Weekend Getaway to Udaipur: 2-Night Villa Itinerary from Ahmedabad & Jaipur

Udaipur is the ideal weekend getaway from Ahmedabad and Jaipur — close enough to drive Friday evening, far enough to feel like a holiday. Here's the villa-based weekend we plan most often for guests, refined over hundreds of bookings.

Getting here by road

• From Ahmedabad: 260 km, about 4.5 hours on the excellent NH48 — leave by 3 pm Friday, reach for sunset.
• From Jaipur: 400 km, about 6 hours via NH48 through Kishangarh — an early Saturday start also works.
• From Mumbai/Delhi: overnight trains and 1-hour flights make even a 2-night hop realistic.

Friday: arrive and unwind

Check in, keep the evening unplanned. Pool dip, order pakoras from your villa cook, and drive 15 minutes to Fateh Sagar's Paal for kulhad coffee. That's it — the weekend's only job is to slow you down.

Saturday: lakes and the old city

Morning boat ride on Lake Pichola from Rameshwar Ghat, then Jagdish Temple and the City Palace museum before it warms up. Lunch at a rooftop near Gangaur Ghat. Late afternoon, drive up toward Sajjangarh for the classic sunset over the lakes, then dinner back at the villa — barbecue night if you booked a lawn villa.

Sunday: slow morning, smart exit

Breakfast by the pool, a quick stop at Badi Lake's cliff viewpoint (20 minutes, zero crowds), and hit the highway by 1 pm to be home for dinner. Nathdwara-bound families can add Shrinathji darshan — our Amberi–Nathdwara Road villas put you 40 minutes from the temple.
